Grooming Your Chi-Poo
Brush the chi-poo's fur gently, using the soft bristle brush. This should be done at least twice a week, possibly more if your dog has long hair.
Comb out the hair around the chi-poo's eyes. This area can often can become matted and wet because of overactive tear glands and should be combed three times a week.
Wipe your chi-poo down with a dog bath wipe once a week. This will keep the coat fresh and clean-smelling in between baths. For longer-haired chi-poos, do this twice a week.
Bathing Your Chi-Poo Once Every Six Weeks
Fill a small tub or your kitchen sink with lukewarm water.
Brush down your chi-poo with the soft bristle brush to remove any excess hair or dirt. Gently place it in the water. Sometimes this makes dogs nervous; help to calm your chi-poo by stroking it or talking to it softly.
Mix a quarter-sized dollop of shampoo with 1/4 cup water and work this mixture into a lather.
Rub your chi-poo down with soap, working it into the fur in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly.
Remove your chi-poo from the sink and dry it off with a soft towel. Once the chi-poo is completely dry, brush it again with a wide-tooth comb to get rid of any tangles from the bath.
