Instructions
Apply a commercial tear stain remover to the stains. Pet stores sell a variety of cleansers that claim to do the job. In addition, many natural pet stores also sell herbal removers. Effective herbal tear stain removers are often made with chamomile, goldenseal and callendula. Follow the directions on the cleaner's label for application instructions.
Apply a homemade solution that contains a liquid over-the-counter heartburn and nausea medication that resembles milk. To make this cleanser, pour the medication into a bowl with the same amount of hydrogen peroxide. Slowly add cornstarch until the mixture becomes the consistency of a paste. Mix the ingredients together and apply it to the dog's tear stains---just use enough so that the stains are covered and take care not to get the paste in the eyes. Leave the mixture on the face overnight, then use warm water and a soft cloth to rinse it off the next morning.
Apply a concoction to the eye that contains corn flour and bleach. Place two teaspoons of corn flour into a bowl and slowly add a few drops of boiling water until it creates a paste. Mix the ingredients together and allow the paste to cool. Once it does, add one drop of bleach to the solution and mix again. Apply the mixture to the tear stains. Leave the paste on the stains for one hour after the paste dries. Remove the paste with a soft cloth and warm water. Apply a thin layer of hydrogen peroxide to the stain area and allow it to dry.
