Using Lice R Gone Dog Shampoo

Lice are typically not dangerous, but they are highly annoying and contagious. Lice are wingless parasites that live in hair and feed off blood. The bites of lice are itchy, painful and the constant scratching can cause skin irritation and infections. Fortunately, human head lice cannot be transferred to dogs. Dogs have their own kind of lice called canine lice. Unlike human head lice that thrive in clean hair, canine lice live and breed in dirty dog fur.

Instructions

    • 1

Place your dog in your bathtub. Adjust the water temperature to warm. Thoroughly wet your dog’s fur with the warm water.

    • 2

Pour 1/2 oz. of Lice R Gone shampoo into your palms. Massage the shampoo into your dog’s fur. If necessary, add more Lice R Gone shampoo.

    • 3

Add a little water to your dog’s fur so the shampoo and water make suds. Continue massaging the shampoo into his fur. You must apply the shampoo to all areas of the dog excluding his eyes and ears.

    • 4

Allow the shampoo to sit on your dog’s fur for five to 10 minutes.

    • 5

Rinse the dog’s fur with warm water to remove all traces of the shampoo. Use an anti-tangle conditioner to make removing nits from his fur easier. Also, consider using a lice comb on his fur.

    • 6

Dry your dog with several towels. Repeat the process as needed.
