Things You'll Need
- Aveeno body wash
- Bath tub
- Towel
- Dog brush
Instructions
Test the dog for allergic reactions to Aveeno body wash before bathing. On the dog's belly, where there is no hair, rub a tiny bit of Aveeno body wash on the bare skin. Leave the Aveeno for 10 to 20 twenty minutes. Check the spot for any reactions such as redness, swelling or rash. If your dog has a reaction, do not use Aveeno body wash on it. Go to a pet store and purchase a bottle of shampoo made for dogs. There are several brands of dog shampoo that treat itch and dryness.
Run water in the bath tub until it reaches the depth of the dog's knees. Wet your dog's coat with water so that it is thoroughly wet down to the skin.
Pour a quarter-sized dab of Aveeno body wash in your hand and lather it between your palms. Gently rub the lather into the coat of the dog, working down to the skin. Rinse the dog completely. Repeat the lather process and rinse again.
Dry the dog with a clean towel. Do not use a hair dryer because this may irritate the dog's itchy skin. After your dog has air-dried, brush its coat with a soft bristled brush.
