Instructions
Cut up 1 cup of fresh peppermint and put it into a canning jar. Fill the canning jar with oil, leaving a 1 inch-gap at the top of the jar. Close the lid securely. Place the jar into a pot of water and bring water to a boil. Allow it to boil for one hour. Remove from heat, and leave it sitting in the hot water. Allow the water and oil to cool. It is best if you allow the oil to sit for several days before use.
Cut up the white shea butter soap base into 1 inch pieces and set it aside.
Put 1 cup of oatmeal into a cloth napkin and tie up the end with a rubber band like a pony tail. Place the napkin filled with oatmeal into the 2-quart bowl, and fill 3/4 full of water. Allow to sit for 10 minutes. Gently squeeze the napkin filled with oatmeal. It will begin to turn the water cloudy. Continue squeezing the napkin for about 10 minutes.
Melt 2 cups of the soap base in the pot on low. Stir the soap base to keep it from burning. Once it has melted, set it off the stove.
Pour in 1/4 cup of the peppermint oil, 1 cup of the oatmeal water and 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel. Stir all ingredients together.
Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes to allow the ingredients to blend. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for five minutes.
Pour the warm soap into the molds. Set the molds on flat pan and place in the freezer for about 45 minutes. Once the soap has set, remove from the freezer and gently remove it from the soap molds.
Allow the soap to dry for two weeks before use.
