Instructions
Bathe your pet in a homemade flea shampoo, comprising 1/3 cup glycerin, one cup lemon dish soap, one cup white vinegar and one quart of water. Shake in a shampoo bottle or another container to mix the glycerin.
Comb your animal with a flea comb daily to prevent hatched fleas from laying eggs. Dip the comb in warm water with a drop of vegetable oil or dish soap to drown the fleas.
Put a tablespoon of apple-cider vinegar into your pet's drinking water. Fleas are repelled by the taste and scent when it is secreted from the skin.
Apply a flea spray between baths. Boil six lemon halves and then steep for an hour. Strain into a spray bottle and apply the solution to your pet.
Vacuum all rooms of the house, including furniture. Flea eggs and larvae are not only on your pet but in all areas of your home. This will break the life cycle of the flea.
Wash and dry your pet's bedding a few times a week. The wash and dry cycle should be on the highest temperature setting to effectively kill all flea stages.
