Instructions

  1. Bathing

    • 1

First, brush out any knots in your Yorkie's hair. Wet him thoroughly.

    • 2

Apply shampoo straight down his back and massage through the hair.

    • 3

Using a cup or spray bottle, pour water down his back and work out the shampoo until it is all gone.

    • 4

Apply and rinse conditioner in the way same way you applied shampoo.

    • 5

Dry your Yorkie gently with a towel, leaving his hair damp for brushing. Brush to remove knots and tangles during drying. Now your pup is clean!

    Cut and File

    • 6

After bathing, your Yorkie's nails will be soft from the warm water. Clip her nails carefully, not too close to the paw.

    • 7

      File off rough edges.

    • 8

      If desired, apply polish!

    Teeth

    • 9

Pull back her muzzle to expose teeth.

    • 10

Using pet toothbrush and toothpaste, brush teeth, being careful around the gums.

    • 11

Feed her water to get rid of excess toothpaste.

    Ears and Eyes

    • 12

Using cotton swab and ear solution swab around and inside his ear. (Be gentle!)

    • 13

Trim hairs in and around his ears to prevent infections.

    • 14

Using pet wipes, remove mucous from around his eyes. Don't wipe directly on the eyes, as it can sting.

    • 15

Use stain remover to lessen tear stains around his eyes.

    Brushing

    • 16

Use a pet brush to brush her coat daily (or at least twice a week).

    • 17

Spray with detangler to ease loosening knots and tangles.

    • 18

Brush away from head, going with the path of the hair. Don't brush hair in the opposite direction than it grows.
