Rubber Glove
-
One of the simplest, easiest and most effective way to remove pet hair from cloth, microsuede or leather furniture is using a rubber glove. The kind used to wash dishes with the grooves on the palms work best. The rubber pulls the hair up like a magnet and the static electricity causes the hair to stick to the glove. Wipe and then use your other hand (not covered by a glove) to collect the hair and dispose of it.
Damp Clean Cloth
-
A damp clean cloth will remove pet hair from wood furniture, tables, cloth, microsuede or leather. Wipe the surface and either collect the hair in the cloth and shake, rinse it out or brush it onto the floor to be swept up.
Lint Roller Brush
-
Lint roller brushes (the kind used to get lint off of clothing) also are great for removing pet hair from cloth, leather or microsuede furniture. Simply roll the brush until the tape is covered, remove the piece of tape and roll again until clean.
Damp Sponge
-
Getting a sponge damp (be sure to wring it out well) and wiping it across leather, cloth, or microsuede has the same effect as the damp towel. It also can be used on wood furniture and other surfaces. Collect the hair in your other hand and wipe or rinse it off.
Vacuum Cleaner
-
If sweeping is not getting all the pet hair up from your wood, tile or linoleum flooring, then try using your vacuum cleaner. It also works on your furniture if it has an attachment specifically for that use. Doing this daily or at least twice a week helps keep the hair accumulation to a minimum.
Damp Mop
-
A damp mop used after sweeping will help get all those loose pet hairs the broom misses. Just be sure it's not too wet and also rinse or wipe it off periodically while cleaning the floors.
