Instructions

    • 1

Remove all the clothing you are wearing when sprayed by a skunk and throw it in the wash by itself. Do not contaminate other clothes with the skunk smell.

    • 2

Wash yourself, or your pet outside, if at all possible. Don't track the smell into the house or your entire home may smell like skunk.

    • 3

Wash with a normal soap and shampoo to remove the base coat of the smell. It won't, however, remove the entire smell because the skunk spray is oil-based.

    • 4

Mix 2 pints of hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 2 tsp. dish soap. Scrub away at your skin or the fur with this mixture. The created concoction removes the oil from the spray, allowing you to easily remove the remainder of the smell.

    • 5

Apply club soda to your hair or your animal's fur. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, then rinse out. When finished, shower again with standard soap and shampoo.
