How to Bathe My Dog After Applying Frontline Plus

Fleas and ticks require a host for nourishment. A dog fills that requirement, and unless it is protected against such parasites, its fur can become infested. Dog owners often choose to apply Frontline Plus to their pets' coats to kill fleas and ticks and prevent further infestations. For the product to be as effective as possible, dog owners need to follow the application instructions as well as the recommendations for bathing.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply Frontline Plus according to the product instructions. Wait at least 48 hours before bathing your pet or allowing it to swim. Make sure the dog is completely dry before applying the product. Frontline Plus is water fast and stays in the oil on your pet's fur and skin as long as you allow 48 hours for it to dry.

Take your dog to a dry, clean area, such as your driveway or patio, and wet it down with a water hose.

    • 3

Apply a tablespoon of mild, non-soap shampoo to your pet's fur and work it into a lather with your hands. Wash all areas of your pet's body, but keep the soap out of its eyes and ears.

Rinse your pet's fur with the water hose until the water runs clear. Towel dry your pet to remove excess water.
