Instructions

  1. For Dogs

    • 1

Figure out how much your dog weighs. Take the dog to the veterinarian or weigh him yourself.

    • 2

Locate the proper dosage of Frontline. It comes in different packages based on different pet weights. Frontline for small dogs is for animals with a maximum weight of 22 lbs. A weight of 23 to 44 lbs. will require Frontline for medium dogs, and a weight range from 45 to 88 lbs. will require Frontline for large dogs. Dogs that weigh 89 to 132 lbs. will need Frontline for extra-large dogs.

    • 3

Take the application from the package. Use a pair of scissors to remove the application carefully.

    • 4

Point the application away from you. Snap the top perforated section of the applicator off.

    • 5

Part the dog's fur starting at the lower neck and shoulder blades. Pour the Frontline directly on the skin. Add a small amount and then part the fur more and add the Frontline directly on another patch of skin. Do not place it on the dog's fur.

    • 6

Avoid getting your dog's fur wet 24 hours before and after the Frontline application.

    For Cats

    • 7

Use Frontline manufactured specifically for cats. The cat needs to be 8 weeks or older before you can safely apply it. Do not use Frontline for dogs because it may harm your cat.

    • 8

Remove the applicator from the foil package. Break the tip off the perforated line away from your face.

    • 9

Locate an area where the cat cannot lick. This usually will be between the shoulder blades or on the back of your cat's neck.

    • 10

Part your cat's fur with your hands. Place the tip on the skin, and press to release the Frontline.

    • 11

Apply all of the Frontline in the applicator to your cat's skin. You may have to part the cat's fur three to four times in different locations to apply all the medicine, without applying it to the fur. Follow the dosage directions on the back to protect your cat from fleas.
