Things You'll Need
- Cotton swab
- Warm water
- Clean, dry towel
Instructions
Calm your dog so that you can clean its eyes without a struggle or excess movement. If your dog is antsy, it may move and get poked in the eye.
Dip a cotton swab in some warm water and allow the excess water to drip off so that the swab is wet but no longer dripping. Dripping water may irritate your dog, cause it to blink, or cause it to back away.
Rub the cotton swab along the corner of the eye to remove the build-up. Do not allow the swab to touch the dog's eyeball, as it will cause irritation and possible scratching.
Repeat the same process (with a new cotton swab each time) until the build-up is removed around both eyes.
