How to Remove Dead Fleas From a Dog

Fleas can be unpleasant visitors to your dog and can be a pain to get rid of. Once you have found a remedy to kill the fleas, you then have the problem of removing the dead fleas from your dog's coat. There are three good ways of doing this, and the one you choose will depend on which one your dog will tolerate the most.

      Mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 1 gallon of water and spray the mixture over your dog. Allow the vinegar to dry on your dog's coat--do not rinse. The dead fleas will brush right out.

      Use a flea comb on your dog. These can be found at pet stores. Gently comb your dog's coat and watch the comb remove the dead fleas from your dog.

      Use your vacuum cleaner to remove the dead fleas if your dog will allow it. Pick a suitable attachment that will not hurt the dog and gently run the attachment over its coat. Empty the vacuum cleaner immediately after you are done.
