Things You'll Need
- Oster clipper oil
- Oster Electric Clipper Grease
- Oster Blade Wash
Instructions
Add a drop of non-detergent clipper oil to the clipper's motor if the motor has started to make a squealing noise.
Check to see if your clippers need greasing once a month by removing the nameplate on the front of the clippers, taking out the nylon lever, metal link and the gear. If grease doesn't start coming out, you need to grease the clippers.
Apply grease by sticking the nozzle of the grease container into the hole above where the gear was. Don't fill the area up with grease; this is too much grease for what your clipper needs. Place the gear, metal link and nylon lever back into place inside the clipper and replace the nameplate.
Oil your blades several times during usage by squeezing oil out of the tube onto the teeth on the blades on both sides. You never want your blades to run dry.
Clean your blades using the blade wash by pouring enough wash into a container to be able to submerge your clipper blades while they are attached to your clippers. Turn the clippers on, then stick the blades into the wash and let the clippers run for a minute. This flushes the blades with the wash and removes the hair.
