How to Remove Tear Mender Glue

Tear Mender glue is a spray on application that is used to shape your dog's ears. It is safe to use on pets and contains no harsh chemicals, but occasionally you may find that during application and shaping, you've gotten some on your hands or in your dog's fur. Removing unwanted Tear Mender glue is easy, and requires little more than a fine-toothed flea comb.

Instructions

    • 1

Allow the glue to completely dry before attempting to remove unwanted Tear Mender glue. Drying generally takes about fifteen minutes.

    • 2

Soften glue matted into the fur with an over-the-counter bandage remover. Apply three to four drops of liquid bandage remover to the fur.

    • 3

Run a fine-tooth flea comb through the matted area, drawing the glue out gently as you work from follicle to tip with the comb.

    • 4

Remove Tear Mender glue from your hands and skin by allowing the glue to dry, then vigorously rubbing your hands together. This will cause the glue to flake away.

    • 5

Wash skin with warm, soapy water after flaking the glue off. Rinse clean and pat dry. You may want to moisturize after washing to prevent drying of the skin.
