How to Design Your Own Tiny Dog Bandanas

A custom-made triangle dog bandana is a special gift for tiny pups to large breeds. They can be designed from fabrics leftover from other sewing or craft projects. Embellish the scarf with a favorite sports team's colors, Halloween themes, or rhinestones and sparkles for the holiday season and New Year. The dog bandana can match or mix with your own garments.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure, with tape measure, the circumference of the dog's neck. For a tiny dog, add 14 inches; for a larger dog, add 18 inches.

    • 2

Lay the fabric on a flat surface. Use scissors to cut it into a square, as measured.

    • 3

Fold the fabric in half diagonally and cut along the fold.

    • 4

Sew the edge of bandana with matching thread on a sewing machine using a zigzag stitch, or sew by hand with needle and thread. You can also fold the fabric one-quarter inch and fold over again one-quarter inch, pin with straight pins, press with iron, and top stitch on sewing machine.

Press the fabric with a warm iron until all wrinkles are removed.
