How to Keep Your West Highland White Terrier Looking White

West Highland White Terriers or "Westies" are active little dogs who love nothing better than a good run around the yard or park. Unfortunately, this means keeping your dog's coat clean and white can feel like a daunting task. You probably can't take your dog to the groomer or give him a bath every time he gets dirty. Bathing your dog too often can also damage his hair and dry out his skin. Here are some tips for keeping his coat clean and white, without even having to bathe him.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray your dog lightly with a water-filled spray bottle. Do not soak your dog's coat, just dampen it.

    • 2

Shake on talcum powder that contains cornstarch. Apply the cornstarch sparingly, and work it into your dog's coat with your hands or a brush.

    • 3

Brush the talcum powder out of your dog's coat. Use a brush with stiff bristles, and make sure to thoroughly brush your dog's entire coat.
