Instructions

    • 1

Remove the gum as soon as possible. The longer it stays in your dog's coat, the more it will be stuck into the hair, and the more difficult it will be to remove.

    • 2

Rub an ice cube on the affected area until the gum is solidly frozen, then break the gum into small pieces and peel it off a piece at a time. You may have to repeat this step several times until all of the gum is removed.

    • 3

Work some peanut butter into the gum if it's so solidly stuck in the hair that ice doesn't work. Just work the peanut butter into the area with your fingers. Sometimes other oil based products will also work, including mayonnaise or butter.

    • 4

Trim away any stubborn stuck-on pieces of gum that remain after trying ice cubes and peanut butter. The hair will grow back quickly.

Bathe your dog after you remove the chewing gum.
