How to Clean a Pug's Face

A Pug's face is full of wrinkles and deep crevices. Sometimes food, dirt and other foreign particles can get caught in between the grooves of the skin causing foul odors and often leading to infection. Keeping this area clean will lead to optimal Pug health and a fresher smelling pet.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a comfortable position for both you and your Pug.

    • 2

Take a washcloth and run it thoroughly under very warm water.

    • 3

Ring out the washcloth so it's not sopping wet.

    • 4

Take the washcloth and add a nickel-sized amount of baby shampoo until you create a slight lather.

    • 5

Starting around the nose, gently pull away the Pug's skin and thoroughly scrape out any debris or muck that may be lurking in the crevices.

    • 6

Use a second washcloth, if needed.

    • 7

When you're finished, take a clean wet washcloth and repeat step 5.

    • 8

Use a small towel or dry washcloth to completely dry the entire face area, including the skin crevices.

    • 9

Repeat these steps once a week.

    • 10

Everyday, use mild baby wipes to keep your Pug's face fresh and clean in between cleanings.
