Instructions
Shampoo your Maltese Pomeranian with a shampoo designed for dogs. Place cotton balls in its ears to keep water and soap from irritating the ear canal, if desired. Be careful to avoid the dog's eyes, ears and mouth. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Apply conditioner to your dog. Avoid getting the conditioner in the dog's eyes, ears and mouth, and distribute the conditioner evenly through the coat with your fingers. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Dry your Maltese Pomeranian with a clean towel. You may allow the dog to air dry completely, or you may use a hair dryer on a low setting. Brush your dog's coat while drying. Brush against the direction of the hair, from the tail toward the head to remove any mats in the undercoat.
Brush your dog's coat in the direction of the hair growth once it is dry. Trim around the ears, under the tail and under the dog's stomach with thinning shears. Step back and examine your trimming work to be sure you do not remove too much fur.
Trim or file your dog's nails. Trim or file in small increments to avoid cutting the quick and causing pain to your dog.
