How to Drain Your Pug's Anal Sac

Pugs are clean dogs, but they occasionally develop a strong, unpleasant odor that originates from their rectal area. This is a sign that the pug needs his anal glands expressed. Anal glands are small organs located near the pug̵7;s rectum, and they contain a pungent fluid that typically gets removed from the pug̵7;s body through defecation. When the fluid is blocked, this condition is called "anal gland impaction," a common issue for pugs.
