Instructions
Unwrap the tablet or take it out of its bottle. Place the tablet in the palm of your hand and hold it so that your dog can't see it.
Call your dog and give it praise for coming to you. Pet your dog to make it feel comfortable.
Put your dog in front of you, so that his back is toward you. Grab hold of his jaw and pry it open with your fingers. Place the tablet on his tongue and close his jaw.
Hold his mouth closed until he swallows. Encourage swallowing by rubbing his neck and throat with your hand. Praise your dog when it swallows.
Place the tablet in a treat if your dog refuses to swallow it. Wrap some cheese around the tablet if you know your dog likes cheese, or purchase treats that are designed to hold tablets and pills.
Praise and play with your dog after it's taken the tablet. This will motivate your dog to continue taking them without a fuss.
