Things You'll Need
- Vacuum
- Insect growth regulator
- Flea spray for carpet
- Flea spray for furniture
- Flea bomb or fogger
Instructions
Vacuum your house thoroughly, including areas below and behind furniture. This will pick up fleas, eggs, larvae, and other tiny pests. Throw the vacuum cleaner bag in the trash outside. Fleas will hatch in the bag and you will want to get it out of the house immediately.
Spray your carpet with flea killer. You can find carpet sprays at most pet supply stores. You will need to spray all of the carpet in your home to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Set off a flea bomb in your home. You may need to use a fogger in each room of your house and residents will need to stay outside while the fogger works.
Vacuum your carpet again and treat the carpet with an insect growth regulator to impair future flea infestations.
Spray all furniture with furniture specific flea spray.
