Store the Snip Tip 3V Caps in an area that is dry and stays at room temperature. If the pills become wet, cold or hot, the ingredients inside may not work or could cause harm to your dog. Keep the pills out of the reach of small children as consuming them could cause medical harm. Always check the expiration date on the pills before giving them to your dog.
Weigh your dog in order to find out what weight class it fits into. This can be done with a standard bathroom or sliding scale if your dog is small enough. If you have a larger dog, a veterinarian can assist in finding out the dog's weight. If your dog weighs between 30 and 59 pounds, give it one pill a day. If it weighs between 60 and 90 pounds, it gets two pills, and if it weighs 90 pounds and above, it gets three pills. Do not give the dog more than the recommended dosage.
Take the appropriate amount of pills and attempt to feed the pill to your dog. If the dog does not eat the pill or pills out of your hands, you can place the medicine in your dog's food dish. Monitor the dish to see if the dog has consumed the pills. If so, repeat this method once a day.
Use scissors to cut the tops off the Snip Caps if you dog will not consume the pills normally. Carefully take the remaining portion of the pill and sprinkle the contents into your dog's normal food and mix it in. Make sure your dog eats the food.
