- Bowl
- Hot water
- 1 lemon
- 2 cups boiling water
- Spray bottle
- Essential oil of eucalyptus, tea tree, citronella lavender or geranium
- 1 Pet collar or bandana
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon brewer's yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
Prepare three gallons of bath water and add about 10 drops of tea tree or lavender essential oil. Wet your pet using the essential oil water, use a mild dish-washing liquid as a shampoo and manually remove visible fleas. Rinse with the essential oil water to remove dish-washing liquid residue.
Smear petroleum jelly on the base of a flea comb's teeth and run the flea comb over your pet's body while it is still damp after a bath. Remove live fleas with tweezers and drop the fleas into a bowl of hot water to kill them.
Cut a lemon into quarters and immerse it in 2 cups of boiling water. Leave it overnight and pour the water into a spray bottle. Spray the lemon water onto your pet, especially behind the ears, at the base of the tail and underneath the area where its front legs meet its body.
Rub an essential oil of eucalyptus, tea tree, citronella, lavender or geranium onto a pet collar or bandana. Place the collar or bandana around your pet's neck to keep fleas away.
Add 1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic and 1/2 teaspoon brewer's yeast to your pet's food every day. Also add 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar to its water bowl every day. Your pet's skin will release smells that fleas find unpleasant.
