Instructions
Comb your pet every day. If you notice fleas on the comb, dip it in soapy water. This will remove the fleas from the comb.
Grate the rind of a lemon, and then slice the lemon. Mix a cup of boiling water with the rind shavings and lemon slices. Let the mixture sit for 12 hours, and then sponge it on your pet's coat. This solution will often kill fleas.
Vacuum your rugs and carpets weekly. Fleas lay their eggs in your pet's bedding, on upholstery and in your carpet. Remove any vacuum bags from your home after the carpet cleaning is complete.
Spread diatomaceous earth on your pet's bedding, on your carpets, in your pet's fur and anywhere else you suspect there are fleas. Diatomaceous earth will not harm humans or pets, but it kills fleas. Continue to spread it around your home to prevent future outbreaks of fleas.
A Good Way to Get Rid of Fleas
Dogs and cats are a flea's favorite host, but the parasite will bite other animals -- and humans -- if their favorite meal isn't available. The solution to a flea infestation is to treat your pet, and then kill the fleas in your home. Follow up with consistent prevention, and you can control a flea infestation of your animals and residence.
