Cleaning the Ear
Check your dog's ears, especially if there is a foul odor present. This is a clear sign of an ear problem.
Wipe out the inside of the ear with a cotton ball. You can use a cotton swab, but do not go deep into the ear canal. Doing so can cause damage to the eardrum.
Mix equal parts of white vinegar and isopropyl alcohol in a small applicator bottle. Vinegar is acidic and destroys bacteria and yeast, while the alcohol works to remove excess moisture due to its drying components.
Massage at the base of the ear and use the cotton balls or soft cloth to remove the excess solution from the ears. Repeat the process with plain water and cotton balls.
Clean your dog's ears with the white vinegar home remedy solution twice weekly if a minor infection is present. Clean your dog's ears once weekly as an upkeep.
