Things You'll Need
- Natural flea killer
- Hot water
- Container
- Lemon
- Organic dog shampoo
- Flea collar
Instructions
Pick a natural flea killer. These flea killers will be organic and kill the fleas using pyrethrin, which is from chrysanthemum flower heads, or d-Limonene, which is a byproduct of citrus. A substance known as diatomaceous earth, which is fossilized algae, has been shown to be most effective and safest.
Pour very hot water into a container and add several slices from a whole lemon, including the peel. Let this mixture seep overnight.
Bathe your dog with an organic dog shampoo first. This will drown many of the fleas that are on your dog.
Rinse your dog with the lemon water. This will improve the damage done to your dog's skin by fleas and repel the fleas. Repeat this daily until the fleas have been removed from your house, as well.
Apply to your dog the natural flea killer that you chose. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
Put a flea collar on your dog that naturally repels fleas. These will include natural smells like rosemary, citronella and wormwood.
