Instructions
Study what your dog is like before beginning treatment. Notice if the dog can run and for how long. Also note if your dog needs to lay down often.
Investigate to see if your dog has specific points of discomfort in its body. In osteoarthritis, much of the pain is found around the hips. Press gently against its hips and see how your dog responds. Knowing where the discomfort spots are before hand can help you test the effects of glucosamine.
Start with a low dose of the supplement. You do not want to start out with high doses of glucosamine, especially if the dog has a history of diabetes.
Keep a journal of your dog's daily activity. Like any health supplement, effects won't be seen over night. Watch for improvements in your dog's mobility to test the success of the supplement.
Press down on your dog's old points of discomfort gently. Take note if your dog seems in less pain from the pressure you are applying than before introducing the supplement.
