How to Reverse Vaccine Damage in Dogs

That annual postcard you receive from your vet reminding you it's time to vaccinate Buddy again could be an invitation to shorten its life. Observant pet owners aim to protect their pets from disease as they would their own children. But that vigilant concern may be sickening pets instead. "I think that vaccines ... are leading killers of dogs and cats in America today," says Martin Goldstein, doctor of veterinary medicine at Smith Ridge Veterinary Center, South Salem, New York.

Vaccines can trigger a plethora of illnesses, including allergies and malignant tumors -- but most dog owners don't know this.

Administer the homeopathic remedy Thuja with the supervision of a homeopathic veterinarian. Charles Loops, DVM, suggests treating dogs with Thuja 30C if symptoms such as diarrhea, fatigue and muscle pain develop within a few weeks following vaccination. Loops recommends administering one dose daily for five days.

Take a proactive approach, Karen Bentley, DVM, suggests; don't wait for symptoms to arise. Bentley suggests giving your dog one dose of Thuja 30C within 24 hours of vaccination to prevent an adverse reaction. (Ref 1 pg. 76)

Prepare your dog ahead of its vaccination appointment if it has a history of severe reactions to vaccinations. Severe reactions are usually characterized by inflammation, fever, lameness and digestive upset. Bentley suggests a compound homeopathic remedy that includes Thuja, sulfur, Arsenicum album, pulsatilla, silicea and antimonium. Your homeopathic vet prepares combination remedies based on the symptoms your dog presents. Dosage typically includes administering one to two tablets of the compound remedy one week before vaccination. Finish the entire bottle, Bentley says. To treat chronic symptoms, give one tablet up to three times daily for up to a week or more.
