Monitor your pug for signs of a bloated stomach and enlarged nipples that will suggest it is pregnant. Additionally, if your pug seems unusually tired or cleans itself more often, it is likely pregnant.
Duration of Pregnancy

Typically, a pug's pregnancy lasts 63 days. A pug that is pregnant for more than 69 days should be taken to a veterinarian.
Litter

A typical pug litter contains three or four puppies. Toward the end of your pug's pregnancy, take it to a veterinarian who will conduct an ultrasound and tell you how many puppies to expect.
Labor Signs

If your pug becomes restless and begins to breathe heavily, tremble or vomit, check its temperature rectally to see if it is in labor. If its body temperature is below 100 degrees, the dog will likely deliver puppies within the next 24 hours.
Delivery

A pug's labor can last up to 12 hours. Puppies delivered naturally will be born in a thin membrane that must be torn away to prevent suffocation. Expect one puppy every hour, about half an hour apart. Some pugs require a break during delivery that can last a few hours.
Problems

A pug that demonstrates excessive strain during delivery, takes greater than a four-hour break between delivering each puppy or is pregnant for more than 70 days may require a Cesarean section.
