Instructions

    • 1

Apply K-Y jelly to the cut. Make sure the cut is covered completely with the jelly. The jelly will keep hair from getting into the cut.

    • 2

Use hair clippers to clip the hair from around the cut. Cut the hair to make an inch-wide perimeter around the cut. Wipe the jelly out of the cut using a clean gauze pad.

    • 3

Mix the antiseptic cleaning solution with water according to directions on the bottle and pour into bowl.

    • 4

Place the tip of the syringe into the bowl of solution. Pull the plunger out of the syringe until it is filled.

    • 5

Press the plunger into the syringe to squirt the cleaning solution into the cut to remove any debris and hair. Repeat the steps to flush out the wound until all debris is removed.

    • 6

Pat the cut and surrounding area with a clean gauze pad to dry the area. Apply antibiotic ointment to the cut. Cover the cut with a clean gauze pad. Place a piece of tape across the top of the gauze pad and a piece of tape across the bottom of the gauze pad.
