How to Use Baby Diapers for Sick Dogs

When a sick dog is not able to control its bladder or bowels, diapering it is a sensible option. You can purchase dog diapers, but they are costly. Instead, in a matter of seconds you can easily convert a baby diaper into a dog diaper. The size diaper needed depends on the size of your dog. Trial and error will determine this.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold a disposable baby diaper in half, lengthwise.

    • 2

Use scissors to cut out a small triangle on the fold, about a third of the way down from the top of the back side. Try fitting your dog's tail through the hole. If the opening is too small, enlarge it a little at a time until it is the right size.

    • 3

Cover the tail opening with strips of masking tape to prevent the inside of the diaper from coming out.

    • 4

Place the diaper on your dog in the same manner as you would a baby, by taping it with the tape provided on the disposable diaper.
