Instructions

    • 1

Feed your dog a healthy food that will give it the necessary calories for the day. Puppies will need a lot more calories than an older dog would need.

    • 2

Take your dog out to exercise every day and make sure it is being active and involved. A good amount of exercise for the average dog is 45 minutes a day.

    • 3

Check your dog's sleeping area for any drafts, breezes or water seeping into the walls, as these nuisances can make your dog uncomfortable when it is trying to sleep.

    • 4

Place a crate in the spot where you dog likes to sleep. The crate should be large enough for your dog to walk around and stand up in. Place a blanket on the floor of the crate and add some toys and comfort items.

Bring your dog to the crate at the time it usually goes to sleep. Lead the dog into the crate and make sure it is secure before you leave.
