Homemade Dog Diapers

To prevent stained carpet, ruined furniture and cleaning hassles, sometimes it's best to put a diaper on a dog when she is in heat or has urinary or bowel problems. Pet stores and specialty websites sell dog diapers, but they are expensive, and for a chronic condition such as urinary dysfunction, the costs can add up quickly. Making your own dog diapers is simple and will save you money in addition to allowing you to customize them as you see fit.

Instructions

    • 1

Put a pair of boys briefs on your dog, rear legs through the leg holes and the front flap facing upward.

    • 2

Pull the dog's tail through the front flap carefully. If more room is needed for the diaper to fit comfortably, cut out the front flap section.

    • 3

Remove the sticky lining cover from a feminine pad. Place the pad on the inside of the briefs near the dog's underbelly.

    • 4

Change the feminine pad as needed throughout the day.
