How to Make Doggie Diapers

Sometimes dogs can need diapers to prevent accidents due to poor bowel movement or lack of urinary control. Pet stores sell specially made doggie diapers but these can be quite expensive. Making your own disposable dog diapers is simply a matter of modifying human baby swim diapers. This will save you a lot of money while performing the same function.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a disposable diaper. Choose a size based on your dog's weight as compared to the weight on the package. Lay it out flat, tabs on the side at the top. Feel inside of the diaper for the section where the padding inside thickens. At the point where it thickens cut an "X" in the diaper. Make the "X" large enough for your dog's tail to fit through comfortably.

    • 2

Place the tabbed section of the diaper over the edge of the dog's back. Carefully put the tail through the cut "X."

    • 3

Pull the rest of the diaper under the dog's body through its rear legs.

    • 4

Unfold the tabbed sections and stick them to the front of the diaper under the dog's belly section.
