Ingredients

Frontline contains fipronil, a broad spectrum insecticide. The drug was first registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency in May 1996, and has undergone significant testing.
Effectiveness

Frontline kills fleas within 12 hours of and ticks within 48 hours. Frontline is designed to provide protection against fleas and ticks for 30 days. The product is waterproof, so it should not be affected by swimming or grooming.
Side Effects

Frontline is generally well-tolerated among most cats and dogs. Occasionally, pets may develop irritation at the site of application, especially if they are allergic to fipronil.
Safety
