Flea medication is used to protect your dog against fleas and ticks. Hartz UltraGuard Plus flea drops, for example, protect your dog against fleas and ticks for up to 30 days. This medication also kills mosquitoes, and it kills and prevents flea eggs and larvae, as well as adult fleas. This helps break the flea breeding cycle to further protect your dog. Applying Hartz UltraGuard Plus flea drops is quick and simple once you know how. It should be reapplied every 30 days.
Instructions
Hold the applicator tube for Hartz UltraGuard Plus flea drops between your thumb and forefinger. It should not be pointed toward your face or your dog's face.
Grip the dispensing tip between your thumb and forefinger on the opposite hand. Twist it clockwise. This will break the seal of the applicator. Keep the tip on the applicator.
Spread apart the fur between your dog's shoulder blades using the dispensing tip. The medication should be applied directly to his skin.
Squeeze the applicator gently to release the medication. Move slowly along your dog's back until you reach his tail. Remember to apply the medication on his skin, not his fur. You may need to ask someone to help you hold your dog still.
Wash your hands when you're finished to get off any medication residue. Don't touch your dog where you applied the Hartz UltraGuard Plus flea drops for 12 to 24 hours to allow it to completely dry. Watch your dog to make sure he doesn't try to lick the medication off his back.
