Using a warm compress is one way to treat ear problems without using medication at all. Apply the warm compress to your dog's ears every two to three hours. This treatment alleviates inflammation and redness and draws out infection.
Vinegar

You need to clean your dog's ears to rid them of dirt, mites and infection. Try applying distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar to a cotton ball and wiping out your dog's ears to keep them clean and healthy. You can also mix 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar in 1 cup of water and have your dog drink the mixture twice a week to relieve ear infections.
Oil

Canola oil, cod liver oil, vitamin E oil and olive oil make great remedies for dry skin on a dog's ears or to rid a dog's ears of mites. The oils hydrate the delicate skin on the dog's ear to keep dry skin at bay. Mites are smothered by the oils and will die, allowing your to wipe your dog's ears clean and rid them of mites. You also can drip a few drops of vitamin E oil into your dog's ears to act as a pain reliever in the event of an ear infection.
Garlic

Garlic is a natural antibacterial substance. Mash a clove or two of garlic and place it into 1/2 cup of olive oil. Allow the mixture to age for two weeks, then strain the mixture into a glass jar. Place the jar into a bowl of hot water for a few minutes to slightly warm it, being careful not to overheat it. Place two to three drops into your dog's ears to eliminate ear infections.
