Just like humans, our canine friends can suffer from a stroke. Dog strokes are not common, and many times the signs and symptoms are mistakenly thought to be some other ailment.
If your dog is showing any of these symptoms seek veterinary care immediately to determine the cause and obtain treatment.

Balance

A dog suffering from stroke may tilt its head to one side, eat from one side of the bowl and walk in circles. He may also turn the wrong way when he is called.
Behavior

A stroke can trigger abrupt behavior changes, including depression, confusion and lethargy.
Physical

Loss of bladder and/or bowel control, seizure and falling over are all symptoms of stroke.
Heat Stroke

Dogs also suffer from heat stroke the same as humans. The symptoms of heat stroke in dogs is entirely different from a ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke.
Heat Stroke Symptoms

Suffering heat stroke may cause the dog to collapse, pant heavily, be confused and vomit.
