Many pet owners swear by Brewer's yeast as an inexpensive and effective method to combat fleas. It is available in both powdered and tablet form from a variety of retail and online sources. The nutritional supplement is believed to work by creating an odor from within the dog; while unnoticeable to humans, it repels fleas. Brewer's yeast is also believed to boost a dog's immune system.
