The scientific name for Cushing's disease is Hyperadrenocorticism. It usually occurs in older, small-breed animals. While homeopathic remedies will not cure your pet of Cushing's disease, they may aid in promoting a healthy immune system to avoid complications from the disease.
Things You'll Need
- Cushex drops herbal supplement
- Pet food
Instructions
Look for symptoms of Cushing's disease. Cushing's disease usually occurs in dogs 7 years of age or older. Symptoms include increased thirst and abnormally frequent urination, increased food intake, abnormal frequent panting, frequent hair loss, and unusual lumps on the skin.
Discuss other medications with your vet. Prednisone, for example, may be the cause of your pet's symptoms and your pet will need to be slowly withdrawn from taking the medication under close observation by your veterinarian.
If the vet approves of using the remedy, mix Cushex drops with your pet's food two to three times a day. Dosages vary based on animal size. For small pets use two to three drops in either their normal food or a treat. For medium-size pets use five drops. For large pets use eight to 10 drops.
With daily use, signs of improvement may appear within two to three weeks.
