English Bulldogs are medium-sized, stocky dogs. A healthy dog's characteristics include small ears, extra skin that wrinkles around the face and neck, wide set shoulders with a short tail. They're known for having eyesight problems and restricted airways. Mothers have to have cesarean sections to deliver because the puppies heads are too big to deliver naturally. Some common forms of cancer to look for are skin cancer, gum cancer, testicular cancer, bone cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma and tumors in the abdomen.

Changes in Diet
-
Loss of appetite, weight loss or an inability to swallow could be symptoms that the dog has cancer. Closely monitor the pet, switch to soft food and make an appointment with the veterinarian immediately. Keep an accurate record of the amount of weight loss and the amount of food the dog has eaten.
Physial Symptoms
-
Your dog could develop skin sores that won't heal, swelling, discharge from body cavities or an offensive odor. Watch for any sores that appear. Also, watch the dogs bowel movements. Tell the vet if you notice that it is consistently runny or if it contains blood.
Inability to Exercise
-
A loss in the level of activity the animal normally exhibits can be a symptom of cancer. This could mean an inability to take long walks, increased number of naps or difficulty moving. All of these symptoms should be checked out by a veterinarian. Take note of when your dog's activity level dropped and monitor it if it changes again.
