How to Cure Mange in Animals

Mange is a disease that can be transmitted to mammals via the mange mite, which burrows into the skin of an animal. You won't see these mites, but they can travel fast. Infection can occur from an act as simple as two animals brushing up against each other. If diagnosed quickly, however, mange can be cured with the right treatment.

Don't wait for the problem to get out of hand. Segregate a possibly infected dog from other animals. Also take this precaution with humans, who can get mange. So always wear gloves when dealing with an animal that could have mange.

Mix the Ivermectin in with the animal's food to make the dosing easier. Monitor the animal closely and take it back to the vet after a few weeks to make sure the mange mites are gone from the animal's skin.
