Considerations
-
Before using this drug, careful consideration must be given for dogs with other conditions such as diabetes and or kidney problems.
Prevention/Solution
-
Diarrhea can be treated with prescriptions or by natural methods, including a starting a liquid fast, giving pureed pumpkin, or by feeding a home remedy of 50 percent white potatoes, 50 percent sweet potatoes, a slice of turnip and a slice of leek, all boiled together and then mixed with boiled chicken or lamb for flavoring.
Warning
-
The presence of diarrhea or black, bloody stools may indicate other more serious conditions, such as gastric ulcers. Request veterinary assistance immediately if this occurs.
