Generic wormer is a broad spectrum wormer appropriate for both dogs and cats. This type of wormer will prevent and treat roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm. Doses should be administered approximately every three months for best results. Keep in mind that generic wormers are not effective against heartworm disease, hydatid tapeworm or whipworms. Pet owners need to seek the advice of a veterinarian to prevent and treat those conditions.
