- Oatmeal shampoo
- Dog brush
- Calendula extract
Instructions
Bathe your dog at least once a week with an oatmeal-based shampoo (the shampoo bottles will state if there is oatmeal in it ). The oatmeal will help relieve the itching .
Leave the shampoo on for about 10 minutes. This will give the oatmeal time to sooth the skin.
Brush your dog every day. Brushing will stimulate the hair follicles to product more oil. This oil will help moisturize the dry skin and keep your dog from itching.
Use a topical skin ointment if your dog is still itching. Use a product such as calendula extract. The ointment has an anti-bacterial ingredients that will relieve the itchy skin. Use this ointment twice a day to gain the full benefits.
Give your dog fish oil extracts (made specifically for dogs and not humans). You dog may not be getting enough of the daily vitamins and minerals required for a healthy diet and giving him fish oil will help cure skin problems.
