How to Use Terramycin

Terramycin is an FDA approved medication for eye infections. The main ingredients, oxytetracycline and polymixin B, block the production of proteins that reproduce and cause eye infections. By not allowing these proteins to reproduce, pink eye, inflamed eyelids and corneal infections can be healed. Terramycin is used on cats, dogs and horses. Terramycin is helpful to keep as part of an animal first aid kit.
Terramycin is available in 3.5 gram tubes. In most states, it can be purchased over the counter without a prescription. In California, however, the purchase of Terramycin requires a prescription.
