What is the test required for Leishmaniasis in dogs who have no wounds and appear healthy?

For dogs suspected of having leishmaniasis but lack obvious lesions or symptoms, your veterinarian might recommend some or all of the following diagnostic tests:

- Serum or plasma serology assays: Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), indirect fluorescent assay test (IFAT), or the agglutination test.

- Molecular techniques: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time PCR: highly specific and sensitive assays, they can detect Leishmania DNA in blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and skin.
