* Contact your veterinarian immediately. Chocolate can be toxic to dogs, and bloody diarrhea is a sign of a serious medical problem.
* Bring your dog to the veterinarian as soon as possible. Do not wait to see if the symptoms improve.
* If you cannot get your dog to the veterinarian immediately, you can try to induce vomiting. This is only recommended if you are sure your dog has eaten chocolate and if it has been less than 2 hours since they ingested it. To induce vomiting, give your dog 1 tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide per 5 pounds of body weight.
* Do not give your dog any other medication or food without talking to your veterinarian. Some medications and foods can interact with chocolate and make the situation worse.
* Keep your dog away from any more chocolate. Chocolate is toxic to dogs, and even small amounts can cause problems.
